This is my Story

Hi, I’m Christy Wheat, founder of The GrowthTrack Lab—a space dedicated to helping ambitious professionals take control of their careers with clarity, confidence, and a solid plan. I created this space for people just like you: driven, talented, and trying to figure out how to grow when no one’s giving you a real roadmap.

I started my journey just like many of you—on the front lines, full of drive and ambition, but unsure how to turn that energy into real career growth. I applied for promotions I wasn’t ready for (and no one told me). I kept hoping someone would pull me aside and offer honest feedback. Instead, I got vague encouragement or silence. No one told me what I was missing. I didn’t know what questions to ask. 

I ended up learning everything the hard way - trial and error, guesswork, and lots of frustration. I started making lateral moves to gain more experience.  Each move gave me a broader skillset, more perspective, and slowly, a clearer view of what I really needed: the right skills, the right network, and a better understanding of how to navigate the unwritten rules of career advancement.

Eventually, I earned promotions and with them, the responsibility of leading others. That’s when I truly saw how rarely leaders offer real, candid guidance about career growth. Most aspiring managers and leaders aren’t getting honest feedback and not being told what moves the needle. And often, they don’t even know what resources are out there to help them grow. That lack of honest communication frustrated me, and it also lit a fire in me.

I found joy and purpose in coaching and mentoring my team by sharing direct, honest advice that actually helped them move forward. They didn’t need sugar-coating—they needed clarity, direction, and someone who had been in their shoes.

After 20 years in corporate life, I knew it was time to give back. I created The GrowthTrack Lab to share everything I wish I’d known earlier: practical advice, real talk, and step-by-step strategies for professionals who are ready to take their careers to the next level. No fluff. No guesswork. Just the truth about what it really takes to grow.

My goal? To help you cut through the noise, get clear on what actually works, and create a plan that puts you in the driver’s seat of your career - starting now.  Let’s get to work.
